The story behind our Name

Everything has a story. And just like that, there's a story to be told, and a pretty interesting one. How we came to be?

During our childhood, Maa used to give us a glassful of milk right out of a clay pot as soon as we got back from school. This clay pot was kept in a Barosi.

Barosi is a small pit dug on the ground lined with wooden pieces and cow dung cakes to heat the clay pot on a very low flame. After sitting for a couple of hours in the simmering flame of Barosi, the milk gets an amazingly earthy aroma. We would savor the milk instantly, enjoying every sip. That aroma, that taste; it’s something we can still feel, even today. This cherished memory is what gave birth to our brand - Barosi, A Postcard from Bharat.

Barosi through the years

A postcard from Bharat

We know you're always on the move. Hustling. Building. Dreaming. And we admire that, truly. But...

We would like you to take a step back and relax, because we want you to experience our world.

We are not as fast-paced as you are. We like taking our sweet time — eating roti made on a chulha, drinking fresh chaas, lying on a cot, and not thinking about time. Our joy doesn't come from watching TV, but from watching greenery.

And that's what our world is made of. We welcome you to experience it, different, but exactly what you would enjoy.
